Kate Davis

Kate Davis is an Australia artist and curator working between Sydney and Melbourne. Kate has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from UNSW Art and Design, a Graduate Certificate in Art History and a Diploma in Teaching from the University of Melbourne.

Working at the National Gallery of Victoria, Kate developed a passion for curating and public programming. She then went on to be offered a position at the 20th Biennale of Sydney, where she was an Artist Liaison and Venue Coordinator. Kate's most recent position was as a Curator at Berlin based project space Centrum.

Kate’s experimental projects synthesise curatorship, pedagogy and fine art practice to examine the connections between art and resilience. By staging collective activities, Kate offers experiences that foster trans-disciplinary dialogue, collaboration and exchange amongst participants and audiences alike. Over the past year, Kate has been developing feelgood exercises based on nonviolent forms of action. This framework fosters unification and generates playful avenues for critical reflection, seeking to counter anxieties that stem from life within a rapidly changing world.
